For as long as I can remember I’ve wanted to scuba dive, the dream was to do it in the Great Barrier Reef. I remember looking into getting my PADI accreditation at a local centre but for one reason or another it never happened. On booking my trip to Australia learning to scuba dive was an absolute must.

After our journey up the coast our underwater was about to begin as we got to Cairns ready to start our five day PADI course with the company ProDive. Two days in the pool later and we found ourselves on a boat in the middle of the Reef with 3 days of dives ahead of us.

There were sharks, big fish, small fish, medium fish, turtles, whales, dolphins, rays and more. I loved every second of it, and even signed up to get my advanced certification while aboard! The pictures really speak for themselves:

Bungee Jumping in Cairns

My Mum’s last words as she left me at the airport were: “Don’t do anything stupid like a bungee jump, will you?”

I didn’t listen… and if diving off the back of a boat in to a circle of sharks wasn’t enough, I upped the adrenaline by completing a bungee jump.

I have to admit bungee jumping was not something previously on my bucket list, and I’m still not sure whether I actually enjoyed the experience. But am I glad I did it? Yes, definitely.

    1. Thanks so much for your comment! I wasn’t so sure about the bungee jump myself, my friend talked me into it. A cool thing to say I’ve done though. The Great Barrier Reef really is as amazing as everyone says it is – so cool to see all the life down there! x
