You might not expect a city as well documented as Paris to be home to a few hidden gems, but, if you look hard enough and know the right people, you’ll stumble across a few Parisian hidden gems that you won’t find in the guide books!

Take a look at the following hidden gems and then find a stylish Parisian hotel nearby for a weekend full of adventures.

Wrestler’s Den

A personal favourite of mine is Paris’ wrestling den.

At street level La Lucha Libre looks just like a normal tapas bar, one you might easily pass by. However, take the time to walk inside and peek downstairs and you’ll find it’s got a secret lurking in its cellar!

On Friday nights, the downstairs of La Lucha Libre is tranformed into a wrestling ring where everyone is welcome to don a sumo suit and prepare themselves for the ring! Of course, you can just watch others fight but it’s more fun when you join in!

Where to find it: 10 Rue de la Montagne Sainte Geneviève. 5€ entrance fee

Secret Designer Restaurant

If you ever suffer from a rumbling stomach while out shopping then this next Parisian gem will solve all your problems.

Simply head over to Carmen Ragosta in Paris’ 10th arrondissement and you can combine both feasting and shopping!

What looks like your ordinary clothes shop is actually a little like Narnia. When you push aside a specific set of coat hangers you’ll stumble across an authentic Italian restaurant!

Where to find it:  8 Rue de la Grange aux Belles. Restaurant open Tuesday to Sunday 11am-7.30pm and Friday from 7.30pm for dinner. Booking recommended.

Parc des Buttes-Chaumont

Often overlooked in favour of more central and better known parks such as Les Tuileries, Parc des Buttes-Chaumont has a lake, crags, bridges, waterfalls, palm trees and even a cake with fake stalactites!

It’s the perfect place for a picnic in peace or a romantic stroll.

Where to find it: 1 Rue Botzaris

Parisian Beehives

Who knew there were beehives hidden away in the southwest corner of the Jardin du Luxembourg? You’ll find a handful of hives with tons of bees making honey in the park as long as you know where to look.

If you’re feeling more adventurous you can even sign up for beekeeping classes on Wednesday and Sundays!

Where to find it: Rue de Médicis – Rue de Vaugirard

Europe’s Best Ever Vintage Shop

For bargain lovers this Parisian gem is one you’ll have to seek out.

Pretty Box‘ collects only the best clothing from other vintage shops throughout Europe, meaning every single item is a “must have.”

Cheap prices and fashionable clothing? You’ll be thankful for that nearby hotel when you find yourself doing multiple trips back and forth!

Where to find it: 46 Rue de Saintogne
