It’s time to share with you all a video I put together to show you my adventures in York and Rievaulx Abbey.
I was in Yorkshire to stay at The Black Swan Hotel in Helmsley for the night and, rather than just go all the way north for just a night, I thought I’d make a proper break of it and spend one day visiting York, before spending a day in the county side with a walk to Rievaulx Abbey.
York is a beautiful city with lovely little streets and the best brownies I’ve had anywhere. If that’s not a reason to go then I don’t know what is! I fell in love with the little houses you’ll see at the start of the video; mainly due to the bricks used to build them (is that weird?).
We wandered along the walls of the city towards what remains of York castle before heading in to the centre to gaze up at the super impressive cathedral.
Continuing the theme of old buildings, the following day was spent walking in the country side along the Cleveland Way, towards Rievaulx Abbey. We stopped to stroke horses and skim stones on the river (as always).
The perfect mini-break and escape from London’s smog!
Let me know what you think of the video, and if you like it why not subscribe?
