Happy Thanksgiving to everyone celebrating it! As a Brit I’m not celebrating per se, but that doesn’t mean that, as a foodie, I can’t get excited about all the delicious meals on offer in London today.

I have celebrated Thanksgiving once though. Two years ago I lived in Grenoble in France as worked as a teaching assistant. In a group of about 16 of us, the vast majority were American. This meant that come November all talk was on celebrating Thanksgiving. I even had to teach myself about the traditions of Thanksgiving so that I could teach the primary school kids about it!

We planned an evening full of food and drink at one of the girl’s houses. Everyone brought a dish and we managed to stream the (American) football game – which I attempted to learn the rules of. We drank mulled wine (it had to be a little bit French!) and then, when everything was eaten, spent the rest of the evening lazing about on bean bags. It’s still one of my fondest memories of that year in France even two years on.

If you’re an expat, or just want an excuse to eat a huge tasty dinner in London today, then below are some of the places to celebrate Thanksgiving in London.
