After partying with the World Cup crowds in Rio and learning to Tango in Buneos Aires, Ecuador looks to be completely different. Ecuador is considered to be one of the most biodiverse countries in the world. Think Volcanos, mountain ranges and, of course, the wildlife and scenery found on the Galapagos Islands. For a country so diverse, a diverse bucket list is to be expected.
Whilst most trips of the Galapagos involve a cruise we’ve opted for a land based exploration, with day boats here and there.
// Straddle the equator at Mitad del Mundo just outside of Quito.
// Try some Cuy (that’s Guinea Pig). It sounds tastier than the chicken blood soup which is a speciality in Peru.
// Relax on a beach with one of the Galapagos’ giant tortoises and swim with sea lions
// Spot a Blue Footed Boobie (real name). They’ve got the coolest feet, take a look here
// Get to know Quito, and explore the world’s second highest city
// If I’m feeling brave (but not brave enough to bike down ‘Death Road’), bike down the Cotopaxi volcano
