Upcoming Travel | Bucharest Weekend

bucharest romania that adventurer

I may have only been back for about two months but last week I sorted out a quick weekend get away to feed those travel urges. At the beginning of November I’m heading off to Bucharest in Romania for three days. I know very, very little about Romania as a whole and perhaps even less about Bucharest. So in an aim to at least see what it look like I instantly turned to Pinterest. I’ve put together a board of some cool looking cafés, nice places, oh, and Dracula’s castle had to pop up somewhere!

The board is just below but I’d love to hear from you if you’ve been to Romania and have an thoughts or suggestions on what to do! Why not follow my board to see what else I find?

  1. We went to Bucharest when we went Interrailing but as we forgot the guidebook, we arrived and didn’t know too much about the place. At first impressions we decided to head to Constanta and spend some time at the beach, which was lovely. The people were really lovely too.

We then returned to the city and the second impressions were better and had some nice time relaxing in the city park before moving on. I would love to go back and explore the country some more.

Can’t wait to hear all about it!

    1. I’ve read a lot of people have poor first impressions of Bucharest but seem to like it on second viewing. The countryside is supposed to be stunning shame I’m only going to be there for a few days!

Hope you have a fab time in Copenhagen, that was somewhere we were looking at going too! x

  2. This sounds exciting! I’m looking forward to seeing how you get on. I’m a massive Dracula fan – I’m even going to a Dracula festival in Dublin this Halloween so I’d love to visit his castle. Have fun!

    1. Oo a Dracula festival!? That sounds like it’d be fun! Really want to squeeze in seeing the castle even though I’m only there for a couple of days – feel like I cant not go really!

  3. if you get chance, visit the Dracula-themed restaurant in downtown Bucharest. It’s got a bat dangling across the doorway and spooky (not very) things inside.

    1. That sounds great! We’ll be there the weekend of Halloween so I think that’s going to be a must! Thank you so much for the tip
